Many thanks for stopping by.

This Autumn, I had the unusual pleasure of performing Ronald Harwood's play Heavenly Ivy which was especially commissioned to commemorate twenty years of the current management of the eponymous restaurant. The play, directed by Sean Mathias, lasted twenty five minutes and was performed between main course and dessert in the among the tables in the centre of The Ivy Restaurant.

As a result of this, I am proud to have been made an honorary member of The Ivy Club. More details of Sir Ronald's play can be found here.

Autumn wouldn't have been Autumn without making a television commercial for the festive season and I can be discovered playing Grandad for the Morrison's Supermarket store here:

I'm now working at home, sustaining my labours of love with the usual voice work and in January I begin rehearsals for A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Natalie Abrahami for Rupert Goold's Headlong Production Company in which I play Peter Quince.

I was in Sweden just before my birthday last year to record a commercial for Indian Television for Bourneville chocolate. This can be seen here:

My album Dreamfood is finished and waiting to be mixed and I'm eager too get that 'off the desk' as soon as I possible can. Also, I am appearing as Anachronistes, MC Rimes and Mike Tyger on Judge Smith's new CD Orpheus, a rock song-story re-working of the Orpheus myth with some sizzling guitar work from The Stranglers' John Ellis on lead guitar and, more bizarrely, I have been asked to contribute some memoirs and reminiscences to my very dear old pals at the Little Theatre Leicester for their monthly newsletter 'Scene'.

My voice representation will be overseen by hconnor@thersp.com and vhodson@thersp.com respectively under the auspices of Meg Poole at The Richard Stone Partnership.

In order to perhaps lessen the burden of the postman with voice demonstration CD's, myself and Wilfredo, the web designer, plan to make this site a Voice Showroom for my professional convenience.

YouTube has been a bit of a revelation as far as my work is concerned and so I’m proud to give you actual examples of my work as opposed to reports of it, albeit from the horse’s mouth. The commercial campaign I did last year in Luxembourg for Bofferding Beer is now available for the whole world to enjoy at:

Rare footage of my contribution to the My Fair Lady company midnight cabaret for the charity West End Cares can also be seen here; I play a bespoke version of Vicente’s Idea from my CD Bistrovia with a view to the theme of the evening with lots of extra bits tossed in:

Also, the Knock-Off Nigel campaign which has enjoyed a resurgence on TV and radio can be seen here at:

Thanks to an email I received recently, I learn that the BBC cartoon series which I recorded in the late1980’s has become a classic. This is a series called The Brollys, written by Shirley Isherwood and produced by BBC/Trevor Bond Associates and the bulk of the thirteen episodes can be seen at:

The editing is now pretty much finished on Dreamfood and as mixing, mastering and packaging is the next priority, news of its commercial release should follow later this year.

CD Baby are still distributing my three already available albums in the USA and they are now available for digital purchase by MP3, track by track, at the following sites.

David Shaw Parker [no hyphen {sic}] into the search box and my three CDs will come up.

I know I keep saying it but we really are down to single figures of The Lemming Chronicles. There will be no reprint as far as we know but there may possibly be an audio recording in the future. As with the CDs, we can accept payment by Paypal here for The Lemming Chronicles also. The current London stockist is SisterRay Records in Berwick Street, Soho W1 where you can re-live that ancient 20th century custom of buying it over the counter. Yep, that’s what we did in those days. Details of the continuing travails and achievements of Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill and Judge Smith may be found at:

Thanks once more for your continued interest and support for my work and if there’s anything you’d like to share with me, do send me an email at:  shawparker@btinternet.com
